Class Overview

The overall concept is simple - dogs need to find the source of the odor. But what about all the details? How precise do we need to be about handling odor? Letting it sit before doing a search? How do we track all the variables with temperature, time of day, sun, air flow, humidity and more? What happens if we use a marker signal or we don't? Do we need a trained alert? How do we avoid false alerts? How do we handle dogs returning to found hides? This workshop will allow for robust discussion of various training details of scentwork as well as the opportunity for working teams to demonstrate some of these concepts in practice.
