About Core Skills:
Core Skills is $160 for 6 group classes and meets once a week for 6 weeks. Our group classes provide the most affordable option, and we strive to deliver an individualized approach by keeping our group classes to a maximum of 5 dogs per session.
Core Skills is the perfect starting point for welcoming a new dog into your family—or if you’re simply ready to start training with your current dog.
In this class, we focus on essential skills like paying attention to you, staying still, walking calmly on a loose leash, reliably coming when called, and mastering basic stay commands in real-life situations. Want to relax at a coffee shop? Or stop your dog from jumping on the counter? These examples—and many more—are goals we’ll work toward together. Dogs will also benefit from age-appropriate socialization in a supportive group setting, helping build confidence and comfort around people and other dogs.
Core Skills lays the foundation for clear communication and teamwork, setting your dog up for success in everyday life.
Core Skills Graduation:
Graduates will receive a special gift and a graduation photo. Graduates can enroll in General Dog Training: Intermediate classes.
Class Prerequisites:
Dogs must be over 16 weeks of age.
Dogs must be current on required vaccinations, which are outlined by age in our Vaccination Policy on the FAQ page.
Dogs should be able to eagerly eat treats in a group environment.
Dogs should not bark/lunge at people or dogs.
