Is (re)Activity Right For My Dog?
Our (re)Activity program is for dogs who react to people or dogs with barking, lunging, or freezing, as well as friendly dogs who struggle with leash or barrier frustration.
If your dog is calm at home but reactive on walks, we can help you both feel more confident. Training is supportive, non-judgmental, and focused on real-life success. Private coaching is also available for dogs with these behaviors.
If your dog has high anxiety, won’t take treats in new places, or has a bite history, group class may not be the right fit yet. We recommend private coaching or in-home training, sometimes with a trainer’s dog as a distraction, to build skills before moving to class.
(re)Activity Program Description
In (re)Activity, we help dogs build calm, focus, and confidence in real-world situations. Skills include loose leash walking, settling under pressure, transitioning from high energy to calm, responding neutrally to noises/movement, and even fun trick-based focus games.
The program has two parts:
Two private sessions: one strategy session with you, and one hands-on with your dog.
Five small-group classes: safe, structured, and tailored for each dog.
Though it may seem surprising to bring these dogs together, the shared goals and step-by-step approach make group learning both effective and supportive. Your dog gets to practice with real distractions while still receiving individual attention.
One-On-One Sessions
There are 2 one-on-one sessions that will take place at our facility. Upon your purchase of our (re)Activity Program, you will be provided a link where you can schedule these sessions.
Duration: 25 min Per Session
The first one-on-one session, is a 25-minute meeting conducted without your dog, where we discuss strategies related to your dog's behavior and we will provide guidance on at-home activities. This format prevents your dog from becoming overly excited or distracted.
The second one-on-one session, is a 25-minute private lesson involving both you and your dog. This provides your dog with a firsthand experience in our facility without the presence of classmates. Together, we'll engage in training games within our facility before transitioning them to the group class setting.
Group Classes
After the completion of your one-on-one sessions, you will enroll in five group classes which are 50 min each. We'll engage your dog while being aware of others in the room. Then, we'll systematically boost your dog's interaction with both people and other dogs. We'll use games and activities based off of focus, self-control, and resisting distractions. Throughout the process your dog will learn to be happy and relaxed around others. Group classes are offered Saturdays at 4:00pm*. They can be scheduled upon completion of your introductory sessions.
*Group classes do not need to be taken in consecutive weeks, but we encourage taking the 5 classes within 8 weeks.
Duration: 50 min Per Session
